REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY
Hands-on massage therapy that calms the tissue causing the pain.
Treatment-focused RMT — not a spa, not a quick rub. Soft-tissue work paired with the rehab side of your recovery.
OVERVIEW
What is Registered Massage Therapy?
Registered Massage Therapists in BC are regulated health professionals — every RMT is licensed by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC). They complete a multi-year program in anatomy, pathology, assessment and technique, and they work to a defined scope of practice.
RMT at Launch Rehab is treatment-focused. We assess what is driving the tension or pain — the muscle, the joint above and below, the load you're returning to — and then deliver soft-tissue work that addresses it. For most clients we coordinate with a physiotherapist or chiropractor so the work translates into lasting change.
We treat post-MVA soft-tissue injuries through ICBC, and the everyday neck, shoulder, low-back and overuse presentations that come with sitting, lifting, or training.
BENEFITS
What this work is for.
- Relieve muscle tension and trigger-point pain
- Support post-MVA and post-surgical soft-tissue recovery
- Improve circulation and lymphatic flow
- Reduce headache, jaw and neck-driven pain
- Complement physiotherapy and active rehab
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your session, step by step.
Assessment
Brief history, postural screen and a question we genuinely care about: what do you actually need from this session? We treat with a plan, not a stopwatch.
Soft-tissue treatment
Deep-tissue, trigger-point and myofascial work tailored to your presentation. Pressure that changes tissue without grinding through it.
Breathing & calm
We pace the work so your nervous system can stay regulated — pressure without bracing. Often that is what determines whether the change holds.
Take-home plan
Two or three stretches or self-release techniques to keep the change going between sessions, calibrated to what you'll realistically do.
