HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
Please arrive 10 minutes before your first scheduled time to register all pertinent information. Please bring the following:
- Doctor’s referral (if you have one)
- Personal Health Care Card Number
- List of current medications
- ICBC: Bring your claim number and adjuster’s name
- WorkSafeBC: Bring your claim number
Wear comfortable clothing (shorts for lower body injuries)
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST PHYSIOTHERAPY SESSION?
During your first session, our physiotherapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your health history, current condition, and your rehabilitation goals. This will include a physical examination and a discussion of your symptoms and lifestyle. Based on this, a personalized treatment plan will be developed.
HOW LONG DOES EACH PHYSIOTHERAPY SESSION LAST?
The initial session is 60 minutes, this allows for a thorough history and assessment, ensuring we get to the root cause of your problem. Each follow up session at Launch Rehab lasts for 30 minutes, but we also offer extended sessions of 60 minutes when necessary. The duration of each session will depend on the individual’s condition and their personalized treatment plan.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENTS?
It’s best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your physiotherapy sessions. This allows our therapists to easily access the area under treatment and for you to move freely during the session. If we’re treating a lower limb, shorts are advisable. For upper body treatments, a loose top is ideal.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED TO SEE IMPROVEMENT?
The number of sessions required varies greatly depending on the condition being treated, its complexity, and your individual response to therapy. Typically, patients start to see improvement after 3-5 sessions. However, your physiotherapist will provide a more accurate estimate during your initial assessment.
DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?
You are not required to bring a doctor’s referral. However, coverage for your visit may be dependent on one for some extended health insurance plans.
WHICH HEALTH INSURANCE PROVIDERS DO YOU DIRECTLY BILL?
We are able to direct bill most health insurance claims with the following providers:
CanadaLife, Sun Life, Manulife, Desjardins, ClaimSecure, IA Financial Group, First Canadian, Johnston Group, Johnson, Cowan, Pacific Blue Cross, Green Shield, and Medavie.

DO YOU ACCEPT ICBC OR WORKSAFEBC CLAIMS?
Yes, we do. Our physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, and chiropractors accept ICBC clients and directly bill. Only our physiotherapists work with WorkSafeBC clients.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Please give 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments, otherwise a service charge equivalent to the missed session fee will be applied.
IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?
At our New Westminster location, parking is available at the New Westminster SkyTrain Station and surrounding streets.
At our North Burnaby location, free parking is available in the Kensington Square Shopping Centre.
At our Richmond location, free parking is available to the rear of the building.

Meet Our Physio Specialist
Kelvin completed his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia after obtaining his Bachelor of Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. He has years of experience in both private practice and work rehabilitation treating a variety of soft tissue, orthopaedic and neurological injuries. Through this experience, it has taught him two simple things:
1. To listen and focus on the needs of the client.
2. To ensure the client is engaged and taking an active role in their rehabilitation process.
This collaborative and holistic approach to treating injuries allows him to empower the client in their recovery and prevent future injuries.
Kelvin enjoys taking a very hands-on approach and has completed further education courses in Soft Tissue Release Therapy, Acupuncture, Chan Gunn IMS and Vestibular Therapy. He strives to continue learning and is in the process of completing his Orthopaedic and Manual therapy certifications. He also speaks fluent Cantonese and English and has conversational Mandarin.
In his spare time, Kelvin stays fit by playing volleyball, basketball, running after his kids and working out in the gym. He believes in maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, and wants to help you achieve that goal as well!
Alex is originally from Cambridge, U.K. He began his health and fitness career as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist in 2008. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health, as well as a Masters in Physiotherapy. Alex relocated to Vancouver in 2017.
As a registered physiotherapist, Alex enjoys treating patients with sports injuries. He has a special interest in running injuries, ACL rehabilitation, and return to play. Alex is an avid runner, competing in ultra-marathons. He uses his knowledge and expertise in running within his physiotherapy practice. He offers his patients running assessments with the aim of keeping his runners injury-free.
Alex is very passionate about the importance of early physiotherapy intervention as well as the value of injury prevention. He uses a variety of evidence based treatment modalities, primarily hands on and exercise prescription, that is individualized to each patient.
Outside of Launch Rehab, Alex enjoys running, weight lifting, soccer, hiking, and cycling.
Teresa completed her Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia.
Growing up as a competitive badminton player, Teresa sustained multiple injuries, but was fascinated by the resilience of the human body and developed a passion to become a physical therapist. From sprains and strains to fractures, she’s personally experienced them all! Teresa hopes that by utilizing an approach that combines manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription and education, she can empower her clients and help them get back to doing the things they love. Regardless of whether you have a musculoskeletal condition, or injury related to a motor vehicle accident or work, Teresa strives to ensure that your concerns will be heard and met. You can expect Teresa to draw on her clinical experience, academic education, and research experience to help you optimize your full potential.
Outside of the studio, you can find her serving it up on the badminton courts, out on the field playing Spikeball, lifting weights, or powering through HIIT workouts at home. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, scouting Vancouver for the best coffee and pastries, and spending time with her friends and family.
Gurpreet completed her Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Kinesiology degrees at the University of British Columbia. She was born and raised in New Westminster and strongly believes in empowering individuals in her community to take control of their health journey. She is fluent in English and Punjabi.
Growing up, Gurpreet participated in various sports and developed an interest in understanding how the human body moves. Gurpreet has witnessed the important role physical rehabilitation played in returning to sport, which sparked her interest in physiotherapy. Gurpreet believes in the power of movement and rehabilitation by utilizing a combination of exercise, manual therapy, education, and modalities to assist clients in reaching their goals and enhancing their quality of life.
Outside of the clinic, Gurpreet enjoys baking, going to the gym, and indulging in a fun game of badminton.
Ethan’s passion for human movement was ignited at 16 years old, where he earned his personal training certification through the BCRPA. Since then, he has furthered his education by obtaining his Bachelor of Kinesiology Health Science degree from the University of British Columbia and Master of Physiotherapy degree from the University of Sydney. Ethan has also obtained various other certifications including FMS level 1, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, and Canadian Fitness Education Services Personal Trainer Certification. With over 10 years of experience in the fitness and rehabilitation sector, Ethan has accrued a wealth of experience working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to rehabilitate individuals suffering from physical injuries and the accompanying psychological sequalae. While in Australia, he has further honed these experiences and strategies to improve function and quality of life for a myriad of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and age-related conditions.
His goal is simple: to help you move, lift, and live pain-free… all while optimizing the fitness parameters of your craft. Whether your craft is running marathons, sport, bodybuilding, powerlifting, or even just walking outside with your significant other; Ethan will strive to help you improve any insidious dysfunction you may have, so that you do what you love for the rest of your life. Ethan is also extremely passionate in his craft as a lifetime natural bodybuilding competitor. He enjoys immersing himself in the latest research pertinent to hypertrophy, physiotherapy, and biomechanics, and constantly implements these findings into improving his practice.
Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology at University of British Columbia and completed his Master of Science in Physical Therapy at University of Toronto. Kevin has experience in helping people recover from sports injuries, post-operative surgeries, and chronic pain. He takes the time to fully understand your pain and takes a holistic approach to help attain your goals. His treatment techniques include manual therapy, exercise prescription, and dry needling. Kevin has also pursued additional education and completed his Level 2 Upper and Lower Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Program. Outside of the clinic, Kevin is playing volleyball, basketball, or tennis. Kevin is fluent in English and conversational in Cantonese.
Jasleen completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Physiology at Simon Fraser University, and then moved to the UK where she completed her Masters in Physiotherapy. Jasleen worked in the UK across multiple settings including outpatient hospitals and physiotherapy clinics before moving back to Canada. She has experience working with a wide variety of conditions, including sport injuries, general injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic conditions. In the UK, Jasleen underwent additional training for pain management, arthritis and exercise therapy.
Being active her entire life, through sports and the gym, Jasleen has experienced injuries and understands their impact on daily function. She believes exercise, education and manual therapy all have an important role in helping clients feel better. Jasleen is passionate about providing person centered care, where personal goals are considered the most important ones for treatment. She believes helping a client return to the activities they value is one of most rewarding parts of being a physiotherapist.
In her spare time, Jasleen enjoys tennis, soccer and running and is a regular at the gym doing different forms of weight-lifting and HIIT workouts. She is a big Whitecaps FC fan and enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and helping with various social media platforms in her spare time
Carolina is originally from Argentina. She started her career in 2011 after obtaining a Bachelor in Physical Education and working as a personal trainer with clients of different backgrounds and ages. She has been immersed in sports from a young age and was a handball player. All that experience led her to pursue a Bachelor in Kinesiology and Physical Therapy.
As a registered physio Carolina enjoys treating a variety of patients, from recreational athletes and weekend warriors to seniors. She combines hands-on manual therapy with exercise prescription. She takes the time to listen to you and understand your needs to design a plan that helps you to recover and meet your goals. She also has experience working with neurological patients and worked in hospital settings during her clinical placements.
Carolina is fascinated by understanding human movement, how tissues can recover from injuries and adapt to improve their function. She considers herself a lifelong learner. Therefore, she enjoys taking courses and improving her skills. She completed further education in Functional Movement Systems and Soft Tissue Release Therapy.
Carolina speaks fluent English, Spanish and has conversational Portuguese. In her spare time, you can find Carolina spending time with friends, playing soccer, hiking, cycling or at the gym lifting weights.
