KELVIN YEUNG

Kelvin completed his Master's in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia following his Bachelor's in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. With years of experience in private practice and work rehabilitation, he has treated a wide range of soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurological injuries. Through this journey, he's learned two fundamental principles: 1. Listen attentively to the patient's needs, and 2. Ensure active patient involvement in their rehabilitation process. By adopting this collaborative and holistic approach, Kelvin empowers clients in their recovery while preventing future injuries.

Kelvin takes a hands-on approach to therapy and has pursued additional education in Soft Tissue Release Therapy, Acupuncture, Chan Gunn IMS, and Vestibular Therapy. He is committed to continuous learning and is currently working towards his Orthopedic and Manual Therapy certifications. Fluent in Cantonese and English, with conversational Mandarin skills, he ensures effective communication with diverse clientele.

Outside his professional pursuits, Kelvin stays active by playing volleyball, basketball, chasing after his kids, and hitting the gym. He advocates for a healthy and active lifestyle and is dedicated to helping you achieve your wellness goals.

ALEX CARROD

BSC, MSCPT (HE/HIM/HIS)
Alex is originally from Cambridge, U.K. He began his health and fitness career as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist in 2008. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health, as well as a Master's in Physiotherapy. Alex relocated to Vancouver in 2017.

As a registered physiotherapist, Alex enjoys treating patients with sports injuries. He has a special interest in running injuries, ACL rehabilitation, and return to play. Alex is an avid runner, competing in ultra-marathons. He uses his knowledge and expertise in running within his physiotherapy practice. He offers his patients running assessments with the aim of keeping his runners injury-free.

Alex is very passionate about the importance of early physiotherapy intervention as well as the value of injury prevention. He uses a variety of evidence based treatment modalities, primarily hands-on and exercise prescription, that is individualized to each patient.

Outside of Launch Rehab, Alex enjoys running, weightlifting, soccer, hiking, and cycling.

JASLEEN JAURA

BSC, MSCPT (SHE/HER/HERS)
Jasleen completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Physiology at Simon Fraser University, and then moved to the UK where she completed her Master in Physiotherapy.

Jasleen worked in the UK across multiple settings including outpatient hospitals and physiotherapy clinics before moving back to Canada. She has experience working with a wide variety of conditions, including sport injuries, general injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic conditions. In the UK, Jasleen underwent additional training for pain management, arthritis and exercise therapy.

Being active her entire life, through sports and the gym, Jasleen has experienced injuries and understands their impact on daily function. She believes exercise, education and manual therapy all have an important role in helping clients feel better. Jasleen is passionate about providing person-centered care, where personal goals are considered the most important ones for treatment. She believes helping a client return to the activities they value is one of most rewarding parts of being a physiotherapist.

In her spare time, Jasleen enjoys tennis, soccer and running and is a regular at the gym doing different forms of weightlifting and HIIT workouts. She is a big Whitecaps FC fan and enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and helping with various social media platforms in her spare time.

GURPREET PANESAR

BKIN, MPT (SHE/HER/HERS)
Gurpreet completed her Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Kinesiology degrees at the University of British Columbia. She was born and raised in New Westminster and strongly believes in empowering individuals in her community to take control of their health journey.

Growing up, Gurpreet participated in various sports and developed an interest in understanding how the human body moves. Gurpreet has witnessed the important role physical rehabilitation played in returning to sport, which sparked her interest in physiotherapy. Gurpreet believes in the power of movement and rehabilitation by utilizing a combination of exercise, manual therapy, education, and modalities to assist clients in reaching their goals and enhancing their quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Gurpreet enjoys baking, going to the gym, and indulging in a fun game of badminton.

She is fluent in English and Punjabi.

CAROLINA FERREYRA

BPHED, BPT (SHE/HERS/HER)
Carolina is originally from Argentina. She started her career in 2011 after obtaining a Bachelor in Physical Education and working as a personal trainer with clients of different backgrounds and ages. She has been immersed in sports from a young age and was a handball player. All that experience led her to pursue a Bachelor in Kinesiology and Physical Therapy.

As a registered physio Carolina enjoys treating a variety of patients, from recreational athletes and weekend warriors to seniors. She combines hands-on manual therapy with exercise prescription. She takes the time to listen to you and understand your needs to design a plan that helps you to recover and meet your goals. She also has experience working with neurological patients and worked in hospital settings during her clinical placements.

Carolina is fascinated by understanding human movement, how tissues can recover from injuries and adapt to improve their function. She considers herself a lifelong learner. Therefore, she enjoys taking courses and improving her skills. She completed further education in Functional Movement Systems and Soft Tissue Release Therapy.

In her spare time, you can find Carolina spending time with friends, playing soccer, hiking, cycling or at the gym lifting weights.

Carolina speaks fluent English, Spanish and has conversational Portuguese.

KEVIN LIU

Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology at University of British Columbia and completed his Master of Science in Physical Therapy at University of Toronto.

Kevin has experience in helping people recover from sports injuries, post-operative surgeries, and chronic pain. He takes the time to fully understand your pain and takes a holistic approach to help attain your goals. His treatment techniques include manual therapy, exercise prescription, and dry needling. Kevin has also pursued additional education and completed his Level 2 Upper and Lower Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Program.

Outside of the clinic, Kevin is playing volleyball, basketball, or tennis.

Kevin is fluent in English and conversational in Cantonese.

LESLIE WONG

Leslie graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, which was a life-changing experience that solidified her passion for healthcare. For over a decade, She worked as a Certified Dental Assistant in orthodontics, which taught her valuable skills in providing patient care and working with people from diverse backgrounds.

During this time, Leslie developed a deep appreciation for the importance of physical health and how it contributes to overall well-being. This inspired her to pursue a career in massage therapy, where she could help people reach their full potential and improve their quality of life.

During her spare time, you can find Leslie exploring Vancouver’s vibrant food scene and trying out new restaurants or enjoying spending time with friends whether it’s over a game night or a good meal. Connecting with people and making meaningful connections is something that she values and cherishes, both in her personal and professional life.

ANTHONY INTENDENCIA

Anthony graduated from Vancouver Career College’s massage therapy program in 2019. His general style is a base of Swedish massage with a variety of manual therapy techniques that include trigger-point therapy, and joint mobilization.

Additionally, he is a student member with the Canadian Sports Massage Therapy Association and has collaborated with other practitioners at various athletic venues such as paddling events, CrossFit games, and football clubs. Anthony is continuously looking to expand his skill base by seeking beneficial courses and opportunities to help compliment his practice.

Anthony is adventurous and loves to explore. In his spare time, he may be riding a bike around the city, discovering new trails, going on road trips, or weekend escapades. He also stays active by playing volleyball, tennis, and weightlifting.

COREY CHAN

Corey completed his undergrad at the University of Manitoba, graduating with a B.A. Honours in criminology. He completed all his pre-req’s for physiotherapy but in the end, decided to pursue firefighting. After completing his training, he suffered several setbacks through injuries. Corey always had a passion in sports, the human body, and fitness and realized that his end goal was to affect positive change in his community. Realizing he did not have to be a firefighter to affect positive change, he ultimately decided to pursue massage therapy. Inspired by the practitioners that helped him get back into sports and physical fitness, he returned back to school and graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy with Honours.

Corey hopes to help people live a pain-free lifestyle without the fear of getting injured. He hopes he can spread positivity and awareness to each person’s own body and health. He understands that everyone is different and will work with you to develop a specific treatment plan to help achieve your goals. Corey enjoys approaching issues with movement based therapy. Some of the techniques he likes to apply, but are not limited to, include PNF stretching, trigger-point release, neuromuscular, and Swedish techniques.

In his free time you’ll find Corey playing basketball, climbing, training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or any kind of outdoor activity!

JULIUS PINERA

Julius is a graduate of West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) and has a background in Kinesiology from Langara College. He utilizes the knowledge from both his Kinesiology diploma and skills learned from WCCMT to tailor treatment plans for his clients.

Julius has always had a fascination with human anatomy, specifically on how it functions and helping others reach their full potential. Massage therapy was a natural fit for his strengths and passion. He has experience in sports-related injuries, working with people with spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis and other ailments. His treatments utilize various techniques such as trigger-point therapy, myofascial release, active release technique, joint mobilizations & deep tissue work. He couples these modalities with his knowledge of stretching and exercise to create an optimal plan for his clients’ needs.

In his free time, you can find Julius training for a powerlifting meet, hiking, playing board games and enjoying Vancouver’s foodie scene!

JOSHUA MALLO

Joshua is a graduate from West Coast College of Massage Therapy. He gained clinical experience working with clients with headaches, chronic pain, soft tissue injuries, neurological disorders, sports injuries and musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Having experienced several injures from competitive powerlifting and MMA, Joshua understands the recovery process and is very passionate about helping his clients return to optimal health.

Joshua aims to provide treatments that meet each individual’s needs. His treatment style includes a variety of techniques such as Swedish massage, gentle joint mobilizations, trigger-point therapy, neuromuscular techniques, active and passive stretching and myofascial release.

Joshua believes that client care is very important in order to achieve great treatment results. He always considers the client’s mental health and lifestyle to individualize treatment plans.

Outside of work, Joshua enjoys going to the gym and practicing sleight of hand.

GIANNE NAVOA

Gianne’s aspiration to be a part of the health and wellness profession landed him as a Registered Massage Therapist. He studied at the University of British Columbia where he earned his Bachelors in Kinesiology; later completing his journey at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy.

Gianne takes a collaborative approach in his treatment, focusing on client goals in order to create a unique individualized treatment plan. With his previous knowledge of exercise science, he combines manual therapy, movement, and exercise to fully optimize treatment benefits. He has experience working with athletes, work-related injuries, neurological impairments and more.

Outside the clinic, you can catch Gianne working the boxing mits, weightlifting, holding a mic at a karaoke venue, or learning Blackpink’s choreography.

Gianne is fluent in both English and Tagalog.

ARRA YOUNUS

Arra graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT) where she studied various techniques and gained clinical experience treating patients with a variety of conditions like acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, stress and work-related concerns causing pain and tension, neurological conditions, and more.

Her interest in the human body and its function, as well as how manual therapy affects the body, led her to pursue and become a RMT. She understands that massage therapy is significant and helpful in one’s overall health by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, providing relief from pain/tension, and preventing injuries. She is passionate to help people achieve their needs to gain and/or improve their overall functional performance because she personally felt the benefits of massage therapy from her own experience with injuries.

She uses a variety of techniques, including but not limited to: general Swedish massage, deep tissue work, joint mobilization, myofascial release, neuromuscular technique, trigger-point release, etc. She hopes to continue to seek beneficial courses and opportunities in the near future to advance her knowledge in order to better tailor effective treatment plans for her clients.

In addition to practicing massage therapy, Arra works as an engineering technologist/drafter. She also enjoys working out at the gym, playing badminton, reading books and watching anime. She spends most of her time with her family and two cats.

VISHAL BALI

Vishal is a graduate from West Coast College of Massage Therapy. During his schooling and time in clinical practice, he gained experience working with a plethora of soft tissue injuries and orthopedic issues, and is committed to expanding his knowledge. He has worked with a variety of people of all ages and walks of life and has developed a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. Vishal will focus on your individual needs and educate you to his best ability, to allow you to get the most benefit from your treatments.

Vishal had a very active upbringing, participating in a multitude of sports at a competitive and recreational level. His experience with athletics and fascination with the human body pushed him into pursuing physiotherapy. However, that path was derailed after a series of car accidents. The accidents triggered musculoskeletal pain that brought on depression and anxiety, and he experienced the profound impact these health concerns had on his day-to-day life. By putting his knowledge of the human body into practice, Vishal was able to rehabilitate his way back into health. He now has even greater empathy for people dealing with physical and mental health challenges.

With over six years of experience as a strength and rehabilitation coach and over two years as a Registered Massage Therapist, Vishal is driven and motivated to aid you in achieving your goals. Whether it be rehabilitating from an injury, preparing for a sports event, or simply seeking relief from everyday pain and discomfort, Vishal is here to help.

In his spare time, he can be found enjoying the outdoors, producing music, or spending time with his family.

LINFORD GEEKIYANAGE

Born and raised in here in Vancouver, Dr. Linford Geekiyanage received his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California after completing his Bachelors of Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia.

Linford’s approach to care involves assessment of not only the area of complaint, but the surrounding structures as well in order to determine the root cause of your problem. Linford aims to get you out of pain and moving better in a short time frame while also providing you with long term solutions to your issues. He plans to do this using a variety of manual therapy techniques including chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release, cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, taping as well as rehabilitative exercises.

Outside of the clinic, Linford is a self proclaimed racquet sport virtuoso as he plays badminton, tennis, pickle ball, and table tennis. He also enjoys playing volleyball and weight training.

ASHWIN SINGH

Ashwin graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an Active Health & Rehabilitation concentration.

With a very diverse background, Ashwin has participated in organized sports (soccer & basketball), competitive running, powerlifting and even spent time in the army. This has allowed him to gain a broad level of experience and perspective when it comes to relating to his client base. Not to mention, having personally gone through the process of being injured and going through the recovery process, he understands what it is like to take the steps back to recovery.

Ashwin’s approach to treatment always comes from recognizing the individuality in each patient and the emotional, mental, and environmental components that make everyone’s needs differ from one another. In addition, by consciously considering each patients’ goals, he facilitates an environment where they feel empowered to take control of their function and health. Be it the athlete, the motor vehicle accident client and anyone in between, Ashwin believes his holistic approach to treatment and the focus on strength and movement can take everyone one step closer to their goals. As a registered Kinesiologist and personal trainer, Ashwin has the experience to assist with injuries, performance and sport specific training and much more.

Thriving in musculoskeletal rehab work, Sarah finds joy in both the physical and emotional aspects of massage therapy. Her approach centers on empathy and effectiveness, tailoring each session to the client's needs and fostering a sense of connection and holistic well-being.

Beyond her studies, Sarah leads a group dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in reconciling faith and sexuality, reflecting her commitment to advocacy and inclusivity. In her leisure time, she unwinds by playing video games, staying active by living at the gym in her spare time, and sometimes taking a book to a cafe only to read a page and call it a day.

Originally from the Philippines, Aya relocated to Metro Vancouver eight years ago. Driven by her desire to assist others, she enrolled in Langara College's Registered Massage Therapy program in 2022 and is currently in her final term before obtaining her diploma.

During her wait for licensure, Aya is honing her skills as a bodyworker at Launch Rehab. Specializing in relaxation massage, she aims to concentrate on musculoskeletal and orthopedic rehabilitation.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Aya finds joy in exploring new cultures and listening to the life stories of locals during her travels around the world.
