REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY
Hands-on massage therapy that calms the tissue causing the pain.
Treatment-focused RMT, not a spa, not a quick rub. Soft-tissue work paired with the rehab side of your recovery.
OVERVIEW
What is Registered Massage Therapy?
Launch Rehab RMT is treatment-focused, not spa-focused. Registered Massage Therapists in BC are regulated health professionals licensed by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC), completing a multi-year program in anatomy, pathology, assessment and technique.
RMT at Launch Rehab is treatment-focused. We assess what is driving the tension or pain (the muscle, the joint above and below, the load you're returning to) and then deliver soft-tissue work that addresses it. For most clients we coordinate with a physiotherapist or chiropractor so the work translates into lasting change.
We treat post-MVA soft-tissue injuries through ICBC, and the everyday neck, shoulder, low-back and overuse presentations that come with sitting, lifting, or training.
BENEFITS
What this work is for.
- Relieve muscle tension and trigger-point pain
- Support post-MVA and post-surgical soft-tissue recovery
- Improve circulation and lymphatic flow
- Reduce headache, jaw and neck-driven pain
- Complement physiotherapy and active rehab
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your session, step by step.
Assessment
Brief history, postural screen and a question we genuinely care about: what do you actually need from this session? We treat with a plan, not a stopwatch.
Soft-tissue treatment
Deep-tissue, trigger-point and myofascial work tailored to your presentation. Pressure that changes tissue without grinding through it.
Breathing & calm
We pace the work so your nervous system can stay regulated: pressure without bracing. Often that is what determines whether the change holds.
Take-home plan
Two or three stretches or self-release techniques to keep the change going between sessions, calibrated to what you'll realistically do.

HOW WE TREAT
Massage techniques our RMTs use
"Massage" is not one technique. A Registered Massage Therapist at Launch Rehab chooses from a set of named techniques based on what your assessment shows, not a fixed routine every visit.
Deep tissue massage
Slower, sustained pressure into specific muscles and trigger points, used for chronic tension, overuse patterns, and tissue that has not responded to lighter work.
Trigger-point release
Sustained, focused pressure on a specific irritable point in a muscle, used to reduce a localized area of pain and referred tension.
Myofascial release
Slow, sustained stretch through the connective tissue surrounding muscle, used when tightness spans a larger area rather than one specific spot.
Swedish massage
Lighter, flow-based strokes that support circulation and a regulated nervous system, often blended with deeper work rather than used alone in a treatment-focused session.
Joint mobilization within RMT scope
Gentle, assisted movement of a joint through its available range to complement soft-tissue work, within what a Registered Massage Therapist's scope of practice permits.
Techniques are selected by your RMT after an assessment, and every RMT at Launch Rehab is licensed by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC).

KIND WORDS
What our clients say.
"I have been going to Launch Rehab clinics for a while now and I have moved all my appointments to this location. I see Herman for RMT and Kevin for Physiotherapy, they are the absolute best!! Kevin has helped me with my knee and hip issues, after just a few sessions I have noticed a huge difference in my mobility. If you do a lot of sports/activities and suffer from injuries, I recommend you book with them. They are knowledgeable so you’ll be in great hands. Also their staff are the sweetest!"
