COMMON QUESTIONS
Mandarin-speaking care, answered.
- Does Launch Rehab have Mandarin-speaking physiotherapists?
- Yes. As of September 2026, Launch Rehab has 12 Mandarin-speaking clinicians across four Metro Vancouver studios: North Burnaby, Lougheed, New Westminster, and Richmond. Most are physiotherapists, with a chiropractor, two kinesiologists, two registered massage therapists, and a registered clinical counsellor also speaking Mandarin.
- Which Launch Rehab studios have Mandarin-speaking staff?
- North Burnaby, Lougheed, New Westminster, and Richmond. Coquitlam does not currently have a Mandarin-speaking practitioner on staff.
- Can I book a Mandarin-speaking chiropractor at Launch Rehab?
- Yes. Edward Lu practises chiropractic at the North Burnaby studio and speaks Mandarin. He is regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC).
- Is a Mandarin-speaking counsellor available?
- Yes. Fiona Hu is a registered clinical counsellor at the Richmond studio who speaks Mandarin, regulated by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
- Do I need to request a Mandarin-speaking practitioner in advance?
- Booking ahead is the most reliable way to get a specific clinician's schedule, since several Mandarin-speaking practitioners split time across two studios. Name the practitioner you want when you book online or call the studio directly.
- Will my ICBC or WorkSafeBC claim conversation happen in Mandarin?
- The clinical conversation, including your history, assessment findings, and home program, can be conducted in Mandarin with any of these practitioners. Claim forms and ICBC or WorkSafeBC correspondence are in English, since those are standardized insurer documents, but the clinician can walk you through them in Mandarin.
- Are Mandarin-speaking practitioners at Launch Rehab fully licensed in BC?
- Yes, with the same BC licensing as every other Launch Rehab clinician: physiotherapists and counsellors through their respective colleges (CHCPBC for physiotherapy, BCACC for clinical counselling), chiropractors and massage therapists through CCHPBC. Speaking Mandarin is in addition to, not instead of, full BC licensing.
- Does Launch Rehab have both Cantonese and Mandarin speaking staff at the same studio?
- Yes. Lougheed, North Burnaby, New Westminster, and Richmond each have at least one Cantonese-speaking and one Mandarin-speaking practitioner, so a household where family members speak different Chinese dialects can often be matched at the same studio.
