COMMON QUESTIONS

Japanese-speaking care, answered.

Does Launch Rehab have Japanese-speaking practitioners?
Yes, four, all at the Richmond studio: a registered clinical counsellor, a registered acupuncturist, a registered massage therapist, and a chiropractor.
Is there a Japanese-speaking physiotherapist at Launch Rehab?
Not currently. As of September 2026, Launch Rehab's Japanese-speaking clinicians work in clinical counselling, acupuncture, massage therapy, and chiropractic, not physiotherapy. If a physiotherapy assessment is what you need, Richmond's other physiotherapists can coordinate care alongside these Japanese-speaking colleagues.
Which Launch Rehab studio has Japanese-speaking staff?
Richmond only. Lougheed, Coquitlam, New Westminster, and North Burnaby do not currently have a Japanese-speaking practitioner on staff.
Does Launch Rehab have a Japanese-speaking chiropractor?
Yes. Yuki Gomi practises chiropractic at Richmond and speaks Japanese, regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC).
Is a Japanese-speaking counsellor available?
Yes. Fiona Hu is a registered clinical counsellor at Richmond who speaks both Japanese and Mandarin, regulated by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
Can I book a Japanese-speaking massage therapist or acupuncturist?
Yes. Leo Goto (registered massage therapist) and Hiroe Yamani (registered acupuncturist) are both at Richmond and speak Japanese. Both are regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC).
Will my ICBC or WorkSafeBC claim conversation happen in Japanese?
The clinical conversation, including your history and treatment plan, can be conducted in Japanese with any of these practitioners. Claim forms and ICBC or WorkSafeBC correspondence are in English, since those are standardized insurer documents, but the clinician can walk you through them in Japanese.
Are Japanese-speaking practitioners at Launch Rehab fully licensed in BC?
Yes, with the same BC licensing as every other Launch Rehab clinician: chiropractors, massage therapists, and acupuncturists through the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC), and clinical counsellors through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Speaking Japanese is in addition to, not instead of, full BC licensing.
