Korean-speaking care, answered.

Does Launch Rehab have Korean-speaking physiotherapists?

Yes, at the New Westminster studio. Jin Im is a physiotherapist there who speaks Korean. Lougheed and New Westminster together also have Korean-speaking kinesiology and acupuncture staff.

Which Launch Rehab studios have Korean-speaking staff?

Lougheed and New Westminster. Coquitlam, Richmond, and North Burnaby do not currently have a Korean-speaking practitioner on staff.

Is a Korean-speaking kinesiologist available?

Yes, two: Brandon Yoon at Lougheed and Steven Kim at New Westminster. Kinesiology in BC is not a regulated college profession, but both are trained kinesiologists working under the BC Association of Kinesiologists' scope guidelines.

Does Launch Rehab have a Korean-speaking acupuncturist?

Yes. Susie Hong is a registered acupuncturist at the New Westminster studio who speaks Korean, regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC).

Can I book a Korean-speaking practitioner specifically?

Yes. Name the practitioner you want when you book online or call the studio directly. All four Korean-speaking clinicians can conduct their sessions in Korean.

Will my ICBC or WorkSafeBC claim conversation happen in Korean?

The clinical conversation, including your history and treatment plan, can be conducted in Korean with any of these practitioners. Claim forms and ICBC or WorkSafeBC correspondence are in English, since those are standardized insurer documents, but the clinician can walk you through them in Korean.

Are Korean-speaking practitioners at Launch Rehab fully licensed in BC?

Yes, with the same BC licensing as every other Launch Rehab clinician. Jin Im is regulated by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) as a physiotherapist, and Susie Hong by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC) as a registered acupuncturist. Speaking Korean is in addition to, not instead of, full BC licensing.

If I need physiotherapy but Jin Im's schedule is full, are there other Korean-speaking options?

For physiotherapy specifically, Jin Im at New Westminster is currently Launch Rehab's only Korean-speaking physiotherapist. If the schedule doesn't fit, Brandon Yoon (Lougheed) or Steven Kim (New Westminster) can support the exercise and activity-based side of recovery in Korean as kinesiologists, working alongside an English-speaking physiotherapist for the clinical assessment.
