HOW IT WORKS
Your first WorkSafeBC visit, step by step.
- 01
Report and book.
Your employer reports the injury to WorkSafeBC. Once you have a claim number, call or book online with the New Westminster studio.
- 02
First assessment.
Your physiotherapist assesses the injury, screens for anything that needs a physician, and begins treatment with a return-to-work plan in mind.
- 03
Ongoing reporting.
We file the progress reports WorkSafeBC requires and coordinate with your case manager until you're cleared for full duties.
COMMON QUESTIONS
New Westminster WorkSafeBC, answered.
- Where is the New Westminster studio?
- We are on the 2nd floor of the Shops at New West, directly inside New Westminster SkyTrain Station. There is no need to leave the station complex to reach us.
- What is the WorkSafeBC Early Access to Physiotherapy Program (EAPP)?
- EAPP stands for Early Access to Physiotherapy Program. It is a WorkSafeBC programme that lets workers with sprain or strain injuries start physiotherapy from the day of injury, before a formal case decision. Once the claim is accepted, the Physiotherapy Treatment Period covers up to 10 visits or 5 calendar weeks, whichever is reached first, with extensions available when recovery needs longer. EAPP runs through clinics WorkSafeBC has enrolled in the programme. Being a WorkSafeBC-accepted provider is not the same thing as being enrolled in EAPP, so confirm the current list of enrolled clinics with WorkSafeBC on 1-888-967-5377.
- Does the New Westminster studio offer chiropractic care under WorkSafeBC?
- Yes. New Westminster has chiropractic on site, and it can be added to a WorkSafeBC treatment plan when your case manager approves it. Most clients start with a physiotherapy assessment so there is a clear return-to-work plan before chiropractic is added for a specific reason.
- Does the New Westminster studio offer kinesiology under WorkSafeBC?
- Yes. As of April 1, 2026, kinesiology sessions are approvable under accepted WorkSafeBC claims. Our New Westminster team includes kinesiologists, and your physiotherapist can request kinesiology approval through your case manager once the treatment plan calls for it.
- What WorkSafeBC-covered services are available at the New Westminster studio?
- New Westminster offers physiotherapy, registered massage therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture and IMS, kinesiology, and clinical counselling, direct-billed to WorkSafeBC for accepted claims. This is one of the two Launch Rehab studios that carries the full range of WorkSafeBC-covered disciplines under one roof.
- Do I need my employer to approve treatment before I book?
- No. Your employer reports the injury to WorkSafeBC to open the claim, but once you have a claim number you can book directly. We handle the WorkSafeBC paperwork and progress reporting for treatment under your accepted claim.
- Is parking available at the New Westminster studio?
- There is parking at the New Westminster SkyTrain Station and on surrounding streets. Because the studio sits directly inside the station, many clients arrive by SkyTrain instead of driving.
- How long does WorkSafeBC physiotherapy treatment usually run at the New Westminster studio?
- Treatment length under a WorkSafeBC claim is set by your case manager, based on the progress reports your New Westminster physiotherapist submits rather than a fixed session count we control. Your physiotherapist reassesses at regular intervals and requests continued sessions when the clinical picture supports it. Ask your case manager what your specific claim currently authorises.
