ABOUT THIS STUDIO

North Burnaby's original physiotherapy clinic.

Our Hastings St studio opened in October 2015 as Kensington Square Physiotherapy. We renovated in 2021 and joined the Launch Rehab network in 2023. Ten-plus years on the same corner means most of our WorkSafeBC clients come back because someone they know already has.

We are inside the Kensington Square Shopping Centre at Kensington Ave and Hastings St. The R5 Hastings RapidBus runs directly past the front door. Free parking is in the shopping centre lot.

HOW IT WORKS

Your first WorkSafeBC visit, step by step.

  1. 01

    Report and book.

Your employer reports the injury to WorkSafeBC. Once you have a claim number, call or book online with the North Burnaby studio.

  2. 02

    First assessment.

Your physiotherapist assesses the injury, screens for anything that needs a physician, and begins treatment with a return-to-work plan in mind.

  3. 03

    Ongoing reporting.

We file the progress reports WorkSafeBC requires and coordinate with your case manager until you're cleared for full duties.

COMMON QUESTIONS

North Burnaby WorkSafeBC, answered.

Where exactly is the North Burnaby studio?
We are at 6536 Hastings St inside the Kensington Square Shopping Centre, at Kensington Ave and Hastings St. Free parking is available in the shopping centre lot, the same one shared with the grocery store.
What is the WorkSafeBC Early Access to Physiotherapy Program (EAPP)?
EAPP stands for Early Access to Physiotherapy Program. It is a WorkSafeBC programme that lets workers with sprain or strain injuries start physiotherapy from the day of injury, before a formal case decision. Once the claim is accepted, the Physiotherapy Treatment Period covers up to 10 visits or 5 calendar weeks, whichever is reached first, with extensions available when recovery needs longer. EAPP runs through clinics WorkSafeBC has enrolled in the programme. Being a WorkSafeBC-accepted provider is not the same thing as being enrolled in EAPP, so confirm the current list of enrolled clinics with WorkSafeBC on 1-888-967-5377.
What WorkSafeBC-covered services are available at this studio?
North Burnaby offers physiotherapy, registered massage therapy (RMT), chiropractic, acupuncture and IMS, clinical Pilates, kinesiology, clinical counselling, and vestibular therapy. All are direct-billed to WorkSafeBC for accepted claims.
Does the North Burnaby studio offer kinesiology under WorkSafeBC?
Yes. As of April 1, 2026, kinesiology sessions are approvable under accepted WorkSafeBC claims. Our North Burnaby team includes kinesiologists, and your physiotherapist can request approval through your case manager once your recovery reaches the strength-building stage.
Is the North Burnaby studio the right choice if I work in Capitol Hill or Hastings-Sunrise?
Yes. North Burnaby and neighbouring Capitol Hill, Brentwood, and Hastings-Sunrise are all within a short drive or bus ride of the studio. The R5 Hastings RapidBus stops directly in front, making it an easy commute if you don't want to drive.
Can I see a chiropractor under WorkSafeBC at the North Burnaby studio?
Yes. North Burnaby has chiropractic on site, and it can be added to a WorkSafeBC treatment plan when your case manager approves it. Most clients start with a physiotherapy assessment so there is a clear return-to-work plan before chiropractic is added for a specific reason.
Does the North Burnaby studio's long history matter for WorkSafeBC claims?
The Hastings St location opened in October 2015 as Kensington Square Physiotherapy and joined the Launch Rehab network in 2023, so the clinic has filed WorkSafeBC progress reports and direct billing at this address for more than ten years. That track record does not change your coverage, but it means the paperwork side of your claim is handled by a team that has done it many times.
Is clinical counselling covered by WorkSafeBC at the North Burnaby studio?
It can be, when your case manager approves it. North Burnaby has a Registered Clinical Counsellor on staff, and WorkSafeBC may cover psychological counselling as part of an accepted claim when the injury or its aftermath affects your mental health. Your physiotherapist can discuss whether a referral fits your return-to-work plan.
