ACUPUNCTURE & IMS DRY NEEDLING IN RICHMOND
Why clients in Richmond choose us.
Richmond offers both Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture (by a Registered Acupuncturist, CCHPBC-licensed) and physiotherapist-delivered IMS dry needling. Both use thin filiform needles, but the reasoning is different — TCM follows meridian and pattern theory, IMS targets shortened, neuropathic muscle bands.
Most Richmond clients come for chronic neck and shoulder tension, persistent low-back pain, plantar fasciitis, tension headaches, sleep and stress complaints, or post-MVA presentations. We choose the modality that fits the assessment, not the other way around.
Both modalities in-house means if the first approach isn't moving the needle, switching tools doesn't require a new clinic.

FAQ
Acupuncture & IMS Dry Needling in Richmond — questions.
What's the difference between acupuncture and IMS in Richmond?
+
Acupuncture follows TCM meridian theory. IMS targets shortened muscle bands using neuropathic pain models. Different reasoning, similar tools — we pick based on assessment findings.
Is acupuncture covered by ICBC at the Richmond studio?
+
Yes. Acupuncture has its own pre-approved visit count under ICBC's enhanced care, separate from physio. Bring your claim number to the first visit.
Are needles single-use?
+
Always. Every needle is single-use, sterile, and disposed of in a sharps container after the session.
