TMJ THERAPY IN LOUGHEED
Why clients in Lougheed choose us.
TMJ physiotherapy in Lougheed for jaw pain is delivered on Level 1 of the Residential Podium above CIBC and LifeLabs, a five-minute walk from Lougheed Town Centre SkyTrain. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the hinge in front of each ear, and when it stops moving smoothly you feel it in the jaw, the temples, and often the neck.
Care here is led by physiotherapists with training in the jaw and the muscles that move it. They work to the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC scope: hands-on treatment of the jaw and neck, gentle mobility work, and a short home program you can do between visits. Our RMTs and chiropractor share the same building, so soft-tissue and neck work can be added to the plan when it helps.
We cannot promise a cure, but treatment can help reduce jaw pain and improve how far and how smoothly the jaw opens. If your case needs a dentist for a night guard or a bite check, we will say so and work alongside them.
Late evening slots to 8pm Monday to Friday and private treatment rooms make it easy to fit focused jaw work around a workday.

FAQ
TMJ Therapy in Lougheed: questions.
How do I reach the Lougheed studio for a TMJ appointment?
+
From Lougheed Town Centre station, walk through City of Lougheed Mall toward Grande Promenade. We are on Level 1 above CIBC, between LifeLabs and PriceSmart Foods, about a five-minute walk. Evening slots run to 8pm Monday to Friday.
Is TMJ physiotherapy covered by ICBC or my extended health plan?
+
If your jaw pain started after a car crash, it is covered under ICBC's pre-approved physiotherapy, and you do not need a referral. Extended health plans (Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield and most others) are direct-billed up to your limit; you pay any balance on the day. MSP only helps with a limited number of visits for people on Premium Assistance.
Do you have to work inside the mouth to treat the jaw?
+
No. Intraoral work (gentle treatment with a gloved finger inside the mouth) is optional and only done with your consent. Many people improve with outside-the-mouth jaw and neck treatment plus a home program, and you can decline intraoral work at any time.
Should I see a physio or a dentist for TMJ problems?
+
They do different jobs. A physiotherapist treats how the jaw joint and muscles move and reduces pain. A dentist checks your bite and makes a night guard if grinding is part of the picture. We do not make night guards or adjust the bite, and we are glad to coordinate with your dentist so both sides of care line up.
