TMJ THERAPY IN NEW WESTMINSTER
Why clients in New Westminster choose us.
TMJ therapy in New Westminster for jaw pain runs out of our busiest studio, serving Sapperton, Brow of the Hill, Queen's Park, Uptown, Quayside, and commuters from Burnaby and South Vancouver. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the hinge just ahead of each ear, and problems there can make chewing, yawning, and even talking uncomfortable.
Care is led by physiotherapists with training in the jaw, working to the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC scope: hands-on treatment of the jaw and neck, gentle mobility work, and a short home program. Because this is our deepest roster, we can usually get a new jaw-pain client in quickly. Our RMTs and chiropractor share the studio, so neck and soft-tissue work can be folded into the plan.
We do not promise a cure, but treatment can help reduce jaw pain and improve how far and how easily the jaw opens. When a bite check or night guard is needed, that is a dentist's role and we coordinate with yours.
Our largest clinician roster means jaw pain rarely has to wait, with new-client slots usually open within 24 to 72 hours.

FAQ
TMJ Therapy in New Westminster: questions.
How close is the studio to New Westminster SkyTrain, and how soon can I book?
+
It is a short walk from both New West and Columbia SkyTrain stations, depending on your route. This is our deepest roster, so most weeks we have new-client jaw appointments open within 24 to 72 hours.
Will ICBC or my extended health plan pay for TMJ physiotherapy?
+
If your jaw pain started after a car crash, it is covered under ICBC's pre-approved physiotherapy, and no referral is needed; bring your claim number and we direct bill. Extended health plans are direct-billed up to your plan limit. MSP only helps with a limited number of visits for people on Premium Assistance.
Do you have to treat inside the mouth?
+
No. Intraoral treatment, done gently with a gloved finger inside the mouth, is optional and consent-based. Many people do well with outside-the-mouth jaw and neck treatment and a home program, and you are free to decline intraoral work at any time.
Physio or dentist for my jaw, and what about a night guard?
+
Both can have a role. A physiotherapist treats how the jaw and neck move and settles the pain down. A dentist checks your bite and makes a night guard if grinding is involved. We do not make night guards or adjust the bite, so we coordinate with your dentist when grinding is part of the picture.
